The normal mode for the COM80 is to display TDS (total dissolved solids) in PPM units (parts per million). It can also display conductivity, but does NOT measure biological issues (bacterias, viruses, etc.). Bacteria and viruses are much larger than salt molecules, so if you've removed the salt, you've also removed bacteria.
