The big fork gives you the possibillity to install a rear wheel in front. For use on softer terrain the use of a big wheel (the same size as the rear wheels) is less likely to bury in. Less resistance equals faster sailing. Performance sailors like the Big wheel option as they can offer more grip when tacking into strong wind.
